I'm with miklee on this one. But a lot of teens these days have internet relationships. At least it's a safe way to learn, I guess.

Do NOT listen to them. I have a girlfriend that is on the other side of the country. We don't even have webcams. We have dated for over 3 years. We're planning to get married as soon as she moves out here. If you love your girlfriend, it will work out. Don't give up.
